Gettin' There

Wednesday, October 10, 2007

I think when I look back on this year, this will be the year I finally consider myself "older". As in adult.

No particular reason, really. Just a lot of small ones. I now see the real difference between myself and "youth". I'm not sure if it's wisdom or smugness, but I often think to myself when I hear younger people speaking.. "you'll see...".

Now that I am full time in my good job, I think I feel much more comfortable. I can let the horsies run a bit further, a bit harder with a little more security. Things aren't perfect, but they are good.

Still hectic, though. September was an absolute blur. Seriously. No recollection. As in, I totally forgot to pay both my student loans, and the cable bill. Ooops. Did you know that the charge for Insufficient Funds is now $80? Hey, I do! Wee!

October and November will still be hectic. And, in November, in case you all don't know, my sister/mother to my niece/nephew to be will be getting married, in Ottawa. That will be a blast, and I am so not envious of her right now. Wedding bs is madness, I tell you.

And then it's Christmas. Eep.

"Wedding bs is madness"
Ugh, ain't that the truth. I just got back from a friends wedding this past weekend and ended up doing way more shit than I signed up for. All the big details (or most of the big details) had been taken care of, but there were a shit load of small details that all somehow got dumped into my lap.
I hope that when/if I get married I will remember that family/friends are not slaves and that people are doing me a favour by helping at all.
